I created this fan sculpt of Sailor Moon as a personal side project while working on my bachelor’s degree. It was mostly for fun, but also a chance to practice posing, polypainting, anatomy, and especially hair in ZBrush.
It ended up being more of a challenge than I expected, but I learned a lot and feel like I've gained more control and confidence with ZBrush. The whole process took about 15 hours over two weeks, as I chipped away at it during breaks from my main assignment—my creative break from the grind.
Most of the sculpting was done from scratch, and I had a lot of fun experimenting with custom IMM brushes for the eyelashes and feathers. I used decorative alphas from the official ZBrush site, and everything—including textures—was done in ZBrush. The final render was done in Marmoset Toolbag 5, where I played around with materials and post-processing.
Overall its been great fun and I hope you like it! :D
